In a series known for killing off main characters—as if they were extras in a low budget action movie—I must say that it still came as a complete shock that Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, and Talisa Stark (Robb’s pregnant wife) were all killed at the end of season three episode 9. (I knew I shouldn’t have let my guard down, even after watching Ned Stark get beheaded!) The episode ended with the credits rolling and no background music playing. This, somehow, seemed fitting. The event was being called the Red Wedding by the cast in the preview of Season 4. I suppose I could read the books and not be shocked by the death of the main characters in this epic HBO series. But, I feel I am too far into the series now to ruin or spoil any possible plot twists or surprises.
HBO has recently released a preview of Season 4, Game of Thrones: A Foreshadowing, which is projected to premiere on April 6, 2014. The preview shows the cast in candid interviews answering questions asked by some lucky fans. I cannot wait for this season to start. Think that the Red Wedding was a climatic event? You know nothing, Jon Snow. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) promises that Season 4 will have more excitement than previous seasons, and that the Red Wedding is nothing compared to what’s in store for fans in Season 4. I eagerly await the premiere of this epic series. After all, there are wrongs to be righted and debts to be paid.
